Kazan Central Asian Kitchen
Branding | Menu Design | Poster Design
After moving from Turkey to the regional Victorian town of Ballarat, Hannah and Yaqoob opened Kazan Central Asian Kitchen, a Turkish cafe.
We were engaged to develop branding and menus for the new restaurant. The Kazan branding needed to have a hand-crafted feel and to portray a warm, welcoming, down to earth environment.
In our branding discovery questionnaire, Hannah & Yaqoob expressed their desire for Kazan to be a place where the community felt ‘invited in’. This struck a chord with us, and framing the illustrated elements within a Turkish-style window became the natural solution to show an open, welcoming venue.
The hand-drawn illustrations are each a key element to Turkish culture; a şiş kebap, kazan (cooking pot), Turkish-style coffee cup and window, & olive branch (also baklava in the illustrations used in the brand collateral).
Turquoise, found heavily across Turkish culture, creates a strong tie to Kazan's owners, the cuisine, and target market.
"We have been blown away with the logo and branding that Jess has done for us!"
We had no idea what we wanted for a logo, but Jess managed to find treasure in our ramblings, and created something very unique and perfect for us. Helpful with advice, they go above and beyond for their clients!
I would recommend Cultivate Creative to anyone who needs branding or design work done for their business.”
